this week was supposed to be quite a busy one for me, which i was sort of dreading since sxsw is next week and i need to rest my 'ol bones before what's sure to be a busy time in austin. but then, suddenly, all of my plans seemed very unimportant, as i got word of a family emergency. so instead of going to see stellastarr or grizzly bear or apes & androids or king lear (the play, not some shakespearean rock band*), i have been staying home and sporadically getting word about this situation.
tonight i decided to get all of the bands i manage, and my own, sxsw schedules finalized and in order. my google calendar, color coordinated, looks overwhelming to say the least. but i'm SO READY to be down there. i'll be drinking sparksaritas** the whole time to keep myself going.
you know what isn't good music for staying home and being productive? aphex twin. it always comes on in my itunes after apes & androids (take this time to figure out what i'm missing) and i always, ALWAYS, think, "ooh, this is nice" and then start zoning out. i don't even like electronic music, and i have no idea how "selected ambient works vol 2" (discs one and two) got on my itunes. but man, it's relaxing.

seriously, does that song sound like something that this guy created?
* and ** are both things i wish people would invent/create.
