anything is better than unpacking right now. so i figured i'd update the 'ol daily refill. i know you've been waiting with baited breath...
yesterday i spent the entire day moving across the bridge, from the LES to williamsburg. i loved my old apartment (hated the rent) but for some reason i'm loving this one more. maybe it's that there's more light. maybe it's my roommate's mannequin, link, standing guard (he's starting to freak me out less), maybe it's that brooklyn is so much better than the LES, or maybe it's my new awesome hallway (where holiday decorations are mandatory). check it out...
pretty sweet, eh? sure, every time i open my door i'm getting brutally smacked in the face by the fact that i have not, as of yet, found love...but i actually really do love it! it makes me happy. all that glittery hallmark stuff.
anyway, i have managed to score a big bedroom this time around (the last three apartments i lived in pretty tight quarters). so my bed is now in the center of the room, like a grown up or something, as opposed to being pushed against a wall to maximize space. HOWEVER, my room still looks like one that a teenager decorated. how do i fix this?! seriously, it sort of matches the hallway. lots of bright colors.
i will leave you with this list of top 5 albums to pack and unpack to:
- the decemberists, live from soho (though any of their albums will do)
- bound stems, appreciation night (good for when you're losing steam and need a boost)
- thom yorke, the eraser (good for morning time unpacking)
- arcade fire, neon bible (always good, probably played this about 25 times in the past 36 hours)
- neutral milk hotel, in the aeroplane over the sea (also always good, though i prefer it in the morning with a cup of oslo decaf)

bah. you had me with this post until "decaf."
