god i love communicating (i just hate the shit we're missing)

i was just sitting here, post midnight insomnia due to a longish nap this afternoon, wondering what to write about. there were options cluttering up my brain, and i wasn't sure if i wanted to let them out here. i've become apprehensive about communicating to anyone through this blog. but anyway, they were:

a) how i didn't like annuals live show (however, this would surely lead to me being on the receiving end of IM's at some point this week about how i said i wasn't going to post about not liking bands anymore). so let's just leave it at this. they weren't very nice people, and their live show sounded little like their album.

b) how i turn 30 this week (i hear it's the new 20 so i'm okay with it).

c) how about a month ago i wrote an "i'm quitting this blog" post, but never published it because i'm not "quitting". but blogs are multiplying like gremlins who snack after midnight, and there are too many opinions, and too many advertorial posts, and too many bloggers feeling entitled. and all of that made me annoyed. but i'm over it/ignoring it. for now.

d) how i was just listening to the dresden dolls for the first time in a long time and was surprised to find that i now immediately associate amanda's voice with ben. it made me sad. listening to the new album transported me directlly back to march when ben died, when amanda and i shared a lot of emails about our friend, when i listened to this album over and over again.

but for tonight, i went with option e. which may at this point seem like "all of the above", but i assure you i could have written at much more length about those above topics. option e was a late entry that came into my inbox just moments before i started writing this. it's an amazing video the ex just sent me of his band, the fresh, playing (what else) gnarls barkley's "crazy". klezmer style. watch it!
