i LOVE this show. i don't care if it's just another attack on "hipsters". hipsters sort of deserve to be attacked, especially if they refer to themselves as "hipsters". anyway, it's FUNNY.
i first heard of it because they wanted to feature bravo silva in the first episode (which they did, and you can watch it here!) favorite part: at the end they're at the asterisk show that bravo silva played last month - dialogue...
guy: "god! they were supposed to go on an hour ago. fuckin' arrogant dicks*, i hate this band."
girl: "you love this band, you've been to every show they've ever done. ever."
actually, i think my favorite part is when one of the characters is on his laptop checking out brooklynvegan.com
* note: obviously not true!**
** note: i probably didn't need to clarify that!
But... I check BrooklynVegan every day. From my laptop. In Williamsburg! Then again, I also like Negra Modelo which is apparently not allowed. Well, now I know. And knowing is half the battle.
Bravo Silva worked perfectly for that film. When "City I Love You" came on with that little girl dancing down the block among the graffiti and the street vendors, I may have almost cried a little. But then again, "It's a musician thing, I don't expect you to understand".
