i've been doing a series of posts on new york city album art over at gothamist, i'm going to try to do one a day until i've gone through every cover featuring new york city. ever. if you have any tips let me know - because i'm sure at some point i'll be forced to google "new york city" + "album covers". and that probably won't get me very far. this week i've done: paul's boutique, strange days and physical graffiti
also, check out the weekly music picks over there. i dared to only put ONE SHOW in the entire post. that would be cloud cult, this friday at arlene's grocery.
last night they played cross pollination at pianos. there is pretty much nothing better than walking to a tiny venue in 65 degree weather in the early evening, ordering a beer, sitting on a couch and watching cloud cult play a stripped down set. THEN joining the bluegrass band for a 3-song set. again, it's hard to explain, it was just a perfect night. bv has more details and pictures.
