last night i had this dream that i had a new tattoo covering my entire back. this could be because on the way down to austin i watched an inked marathon on a&e (jetblue direct tv...awesome). there were about 10 tattoo shops on every block in austin and i was pretty sure i saw carey hart (owner of the tattoo shop in inked) at our awesome, inc afterparty. so i have ink on the brain.
anyway, my tattoo in this dream...i was totally in love with it. and now i want another one. i have two right now. one on my ankle that i got when i was 16 (my dad took me and told the guy in the shop i was 18) and one around my arm that i got when i was 19 (which my dad hates and i'm sure makes him regret getting me my first one). but i really like tattoos. someone once told me that they were like little snapshots of a part of your life, a memory, a representation of a time in your life.
i just don't understand people who get hung up on the whole "you want to have that tattoo when you're 80!?" thing. i mean, if i even make it to 80...i don't think i'll be pissed that i have a tattoo, i think i'll be psyched that i'm still alive. you only live once(ish) right?
anyway, i'm thinking of one that could somehow incorporate my mom's initials and the ocean. if anyone has a suggestion for someone who could design it, or where to get it in this city, lemme know!
Rhonda @ Venus on 4th btw A & B is really good, but really expensive. Adorned does great work from what I hear as well, also expensive. They're on 2nd ave btw 2nd & 3rd. Those are the two I would suggest.
