hi readers,
let me tell you a little something about my desk. it's a folding table from bed & bath. it fits in between my closet and bed. and there is no chair, just my tiny little old piano bench that's draped in cloth and buried under stacks of cd's.
sitting on the bench itself causes my back great pain, so i sit on my bed, hunched over, and type. every half hour or so i lay back, stretch out and stare at my ceiling. i like staring at the ceiling to clear my head. i've always done this. i remember when i worked at conde nast years ago, graydon carter wrote how he also loved to stare at his ceiling in his editors letter in vanity fair. sometimes he'd cut me in line at the cafeteria, his arm would brush against mine, i'd blush and think about how we both liked staring at our ceilings.
anyway, i digress. i NEED a laptop. so my question is: does anyone know where i can get an ibook for cheap? this is the one i want, but i am poor. so i could settle for a simple, used one. all i need it for is internet access and writing.
i also need one kind of fast, since i'll be going to austin next week and need to post numerous updates on gothamist while there. also, so i don't develop some sort of hunched back by the time i'm 30.
thank you,
me
You can get a refurbished iBook straight from Apple... the cheapest one they have listed is $719.

Smalldog.com has some great deals from time to time.
Also, try dealmac.com as they have roundups of all the mac stuff on sale from all over the web.

the word on the street is new intel ibooks on april 1st which would make everyone start cutting prices on the current G4s. of course, this won't help you next week, and the word on the street is notoriously questionable.
