friday night i went to see amanda palmer at joe's pub. this is my favorite venue, perfect for this show. i wasn't quite sure what to expect, i had seen dresden dolls open for nine inch nails last year - but i knew amanda's solo show would be different.
from the first note tapped on the piano i knew i was about to be blown away. she sang everything from dresden dolls songs to her own songs songs (the new one called "ampersand" is my favorite) to covers ranging from antony and the johnson's to regina spektor to nine inch nails to madonna. each lyric was so clear it cut through me and i could actually feel the music because of it. i felt this weird feeling of relief after the show, it effected me a lot - which makes it difficult to relay. jeff was with me and was equally amazed.
i also decided that i wanted to take up piano again. anyone want to give me cheap piano lessons? (seriously, email me if you know of anyone or are someone who will give me lessons!) i used to play in the 5th and 6th (and maybe 7th) grade. then my teacher's husband shot a squirrel and cooked it up for lunch while i was there, and that was the end of lessons for me.
you know it's funny. I find myself yearning for your approval,,,and who are YOU. this beautiful blond bombshell who actually thinks that the world is interested in her. ANd you know what? IT IS!!!!!!. I lived across from the bus depot before that shit was on time. do you hear me now? cause ive tried. I ived i Williamsberg for a whle. are you really hat cute blonde who dates the doodlooking guy named lawrence? dont be a fucking snob.this woman and her man( i love his blog too) incredably smart. i just read what i wrote and it is retarded. jen...i like your style. lets be friends. bedford and 11th. thats where I lived. so hard to get a cab and also, your boyfriend Lawrence makes me pretty much shit my pants he so funny..peace out..and lastly, it's funny. you and gibbard as well as tweedy???fuck you .they're my heroes bitch. you better repond. or i'll roll your apt. in BKLN. we probably have the same friends..lol
