last year i got a cd in the mail with a handmade holiday-themed cover. the return address was from atlanta so i knew who it was from right away. it still sits in the very small stack of cd's i actually keep. the cd contains holiday songs by snowden, and you can get them on their site right now. here is my fave:
happy christmas (war is over).mp3 - snowden
they play mercury lounge on december 8th, be there!
when i was home for thanksgiving i had to do some cleaning out of my old apartment in connecticut, which happens a lot when i go back there. this time it was time to tackle the bookshelves, and what did i find amongst my dusty 'ol books...but a dusty 'ol alula
cd! alula was the exes band in college. after a few years of dating they made this cd, and i was CONVINCED the last song was about me. lyric: "i can't always be there when you need me, because i met a man named music". (the title of this post is also a lyric in the song). c'Mon john, admit it! anyway, here is the song: ahead_in_time.mp3 (note to any ex-alula members: let me know if you want this taken down.)
ps: i had my two gallants t-shirt made in to a sweatshirt at lekkner. that's it to the right.
i'll second that suggestion to see snowden. fwiw, the producer of an uber-hip canadian band is hoping to produce their first full-length.
