i won a bike at work today! i'm scared to drive it home. does anyone have any bike helmet recommendations? i'm a safety girl! on my walk home (the bike is still next to my desk at work), i went to bicycle habitat and bought a real bad ass lock with a giant, heavy chain. they put it in a bag with flowers all over it. all i could think on the rest of my walk was that if i got attacked i'd totally wack the dude over the head with my floral bag, he'd never see it coming! i'd walk away as cartoon birds circled around his head.
anyway, lawrence just posted about "the weekend of jen". that occurred about 2 weeks ago. and yes, it begins with a murder. this past weekend was "the weekend of lawrence". i stayed in on friday night and declined a sort of invite to go drink champagne with bauhaus. that was dumb (though i don't know much about bauhaus anyway - i know, lame) but i felt like i was there when lawrence got back and showed me all of his pictures. he was grinning like a little kid in a candy store. speaking of which...we hit economy candy saturday. i bought marzipan because it reminded me of when i was little (i'm german, remember).
later that night we went to misshapes, where i actually had a bit of fun despite my intent to never have fun there. i photoshopped this picture from that night and made myself look young, like the rest of the crowd. joel madden had lawrence's camera and was taking pictures of all the people taking pictures of him (like this hilary duff-a-like), and he snapped this shot of L and i. sunday it was off to "jesus is magic" and some shopping. i got a shirt with a skull and crossbones on it. is "pirate goth" a look? because if it is, i'd like to achieve it - though i have a feeling i'm not cool enough to.
sunday night i forgot i had list spots to andrew bird and fell asleep before henry's birthday party. wow. i am lame. you should really stop reading this blog.
I live is australia and broken social scene and the shins are coming but I cant see them because I am under 18 so I want to cry and I also want to be a pirate goth! that is all

go for the style of helmets some BMX kids, rock climbers wear. They look (fairly) cool and will do the job. Regular bike helmets are too geeky looking.

naaaw bmx helmets are super geeky. go for a nice regular bike helmet. the newer models are a lot lighter and more comfortable. go for a bell or gyro.

Good bike! I had one just like it (except in a different color) that was stolen about a month ago. Not that I'm insinuating anything! ;-)
