lost, for the first time
today's not a good day, a bad anniversary, so my thoughts are scattered.
this weekend i spent some downtime watching season 1 of Lost (i know, i'm a little late). i had never seen a single episode, and while it didn't make me any less scared of flying, i was immediately addicted.
it also (stricly b/c of the island thing) reminded me of this project i read about called the world islands (pictured at right). they're a series of manmade islands shaped like the continents of the world. each island will sell for about $6.85M.
and (very) unrelated, here's one pitchfork review i couldn't agree with more. cocorosie gets a 3.4 - i actually think that's too high.
The wife and I committed ourselves to watching the entirety of Season One on DVD before the second season. We totally slept on it the first year, got totally addicted (like, 24 addicted) and feel dumb for ever missing an episode.
Here's a true story, it was a Friday night, and she and I had given over to lameness and committed ourselves to watch as much as we can. We watch one of the episodes with Ethan Rom (played by William Mapother, Tom Cruise's cousin!). The episode ends with Mapother (as Ethan) standing there staring, looking freak-ass and menacing.
So, episode over, wifey gets up to use the washroom. I momentarily flip the television from DVD to TV. The TV is tuned, by pure coincidence to channel 9. On channel 9, the season premiere of THRESHOLD is playing. At that moment on THRESHOLD, the scene is of the main character being menaced by...DUN DUN DUN! William Mapother! Wearing the exact same facial expression and behaving the same way he did on LOST.
It was at that moment I wondered if maybe too much TV really is bad for you.
