tonight i headed over to cbgb's to see the dandy warhols. i had never been to cbgb's before (i know, i know). the show was fun, and looking around at the peeling walls and uneven floors - i instantly absorbed how sad it would be to not have this place around. the history is just pouring out of every nook. you can see some more pictures from the night here.
surprisingly i haven't had a drop of alcohol or a drag of a cigarette in (just about) 7 days (due to a cold.) 7 days feels like half a lifetime in this city, but really it's no time at all. it's kind of amazing...going out and not drinking, and not smoking, is actually just as fun (shocking, i know.) or maybe courtney taylor was just so wasted tonight that it felt as though i was also. seriously, what was wrong with him?!
Courtney was fine - and seemed only mildly toasted. Speaking of toasts, he was sentimental enough to have the whole crowd join in to toast CB's and all the groups that have come through there. It was my first time back at CB's in over a dozen years, and I really enjoyed it.

CB's sucks. A very few, amazing, and amazingly influential people played there 25 years ago and none since.
Burn it.
