you go to school to learn, not for a fashion show

so when i was about eleven or twelve years old my mom and i were in macy's and she gave me the option of either buying a super cool eighties sweater with flourescent pink and green squiggles on it or recording a song in the music booth thing. (macy's had a recording booth in it? my memory is shit, but i swear we were in macy's.)

so i chose to record a song. and what did i choose? any of my contemporaries would have chosen "electric youth" or perhaps "i think we're alone now." but not me. instead, i chose "parents just don't understand," because clearly i thought i could rap like will smith.

my close friends have already heard the tape, but i will now share the poor-quality mp3 with all of you, the faithful dailyrefill readers.

"Parents Just Don't Understand"

you're welcome.
