movable hype gets 10.0 on pitchfork

you know why you should be even more super excited about the movable hype show next monday. because pitchfork mentioned it, saying that clap your hands say yeah has:

...an appearance scheduled for Gothamist's upcoming Movable Hype fest

i know, i know...at first this sentence may not seem like anything special. but let's take it apart piece by piece, letter by letter. i was an english major after all (hard to tell when i don't even use capitals, i know). so first they insinuated that it (movable hype) is a good thing for a band to play. and then, THEN, they called it a "fest". fest being short for festival, which sounds like a special and grand thing. anyway, all i'm saying is that i'll take that as the equivalent of a 10.0 in putting on shows.

i am now patting myself on the back.

also, if you are even thinking of going to see the killers at irving that night...it's a mistake. here's why: remember last year when you went to see the killers at a small venue, before anyone knew them? you were like "my friends in connecticut are at the meadows watching dave matthews band, but not me...i'm at the killers!" well guess what, now those dmb fans are at the killers. and you...YOU...you can come see the next big thing on monday at movable hype. see, it's all cyclical.

seriously people, if you come to movable hype and DON'T like ghostland observatory, i'll give you your money back. eventually. i will also judge you and your poor taste in music very loudly, and maybe even on stage in front of the audience. but that won't happen because this band is fucking amazing. so don't miss their their first nyc show EVER.

Any idea what the band schedule will be? Maybe I'll head down after (fogey alert) Camper Van + Modest Mouse wrap up. Hopefully the Austin band'll be late? I've seen CYHSY before (and will see them again 7/20 @ Southpaw with Saints + Lovers/Dirty on Purpose), but want to catch the others...
