there's still no info on bands, but the siren fest website has finally been updated so i'm guessing we'll all find out this upcoming week who we'll be watching while we sweat in 90 degree july heat.
in other news: the new job, which i'm loving, is keeping me busy. but here are some things i wanted to post about when i couldn't this past week...
-the next movable hype show is on june 20th at the knitting factory (main space). i have two bands so far, and am working on two more. one of the bands is ghostland observatory. they're coming all the way up from austin! i love them. if you know of any other shows they could play in nyc that week let me know.
-on thursday around 6:30pm i was walking to american apparel and walked by the slipper room. outside there were cops and tons of music gear along with a pretty big crowd. i asked what was happening and someone told me that U2 was inside filming, and people were waiting for them to come outside. i bet about 80% of the crowd thought that they would come out and play "where the streets have no name", okay - maybe just i thought that. [update: i didn't stick around - but i should have.]
-omg. the shakey-hand chino cam returned to the oc...and marissa shot trey! is he dead? what will happen to kiki? are seth and summer back together? where was zach during the finale? why isn't anyone suspicious of julie cooper getting back together with jimmy a day after cal's sudden death? more importantly...what was that song that was playing during cal's funeral?
-last night after stellastarr* a bunch of us rented a karaoke room on 3rd ave. we filled it with sparks, corona and pbr and began to belt out the tunes. i think i saw sides of my friends that i never knew existed in that room. it was awesome. and i have the worst singing voice ever. and despite the fact that you may think the dandy warhol's bohemian like you and the cranberries zombie are good karaoke songs...they're really not.
i think the song was Imogen Heap (the frou frou chick) - Hide and Seek.
