i'll begin where i left off...which was falling asleep three hours before the party ended on friday night. after awaking in a pile of the previous nights filth i showered off the sins of late night partying and it was off to breakfast. glorious breakfast enjoyed outside in the warm austin weather. sigh. currently i'm looking out the window here in new york to see a mixture of rain and snow. so, caffeine and protein consumed we headed over to 6th street for the fader/levi's party. i had a talent badge, so i got to pretend i was in a band. we got in and drank a lot of red stripe, a happy buzz took over my previously tired body and we listened to some bands, glad that it was no longer downpouring on us (as it had been earlier).
i would like to take a moment to say that i realize how annoying it must be to be elijah wood and have people refer to you as either "a hobbit" or "frodo". but there he was, standing about 30 feet away from us...wearing a ring. it's like he was asking for it! anyway, i'm sure many a drunken party attendees approached him and made what they thought were funny comments - luckily i was not one of them.
after dinner we attempted more fun but ultimately ended up back at the wayward boy homestead, tucked neatly into bed and still surrounded by a pile of party dirt.
sunday was pretty much the mass exodus of out of towners from austin. i was staying until monday however and got to enjoy some less sxsw things, like hamilton pool! a beautiful collapsed in cave thing outside of austin that has the clearest, bluest swimming water i've ever seen. and a waterfall! i sat on the beach and pretended i was on a tropical vacation. later on we went to dinner and had mexican food and FROZEN AVOCADO MARGARITAS. this summer, when we're all melting in the city, i will find a recipe for these.
there was more that you won't be hearing about but that's pretty much it. the end...
