flaming lips @ gotham hall

last night, as i was walking down the red carpet with wayne coyne, i decided something: i didn't want to be the pink panther, i wanted to be the owl. so when we got backstage i changed. i spent the next couple of hours drinking white wine to ready myself for dancing with the flaming lips and other furry animal costumed friends. on the way to the stage however, i dropped my camera which was stuffed nicely in my owl arm. the "picture taking button" fell off and i was unable to get any shots from the stage. luckily bv came to the rescue! he'll have some great pictures to share later on. for now, red carpet pics from getty images and some blurry photos at my flickr, pre-camera dropping.

Benefiting the FDNY Fire Safety Education Fund, the red-hot scene includes celebrities and New York City tastemakers rocking to performances by fan-favorites The Flaming Lips and The Pussycat Dolls.

One of the most memorable and best concerts that I've ever attended was the Atlanta Masquarade show on the Soft Bulletin tour. Confetti flying, hand puppets, strobe light vests, blood, and dancing white rabbits... It makes me happy just thinking about it. I'm so glad you got to have what I'm sure was just an incredible (and more so) experience. That's so cool.
