an arcade fire post

i was totally spoiled by the arcade fire cmj show at merc lounge. last night i got myself up front for a few songs but was generally left with a detached feeling no matter where i stood. the show was still amazing, it was just hard to hear sometimes over the 4 guys standing behind me talking about how they wanted to "do" regine. who are these dudes!? i turned around to glare at them and half expected to see them wearing beer helmets.

also, despite getting anxious for the arcade fire to start i really enjoyed final fantasy. i thought the music was beautiful. even those walking-talking beer commercials behind me appreciated it! more to come on gothamist later today, or tomorrow. for now, here's a video clip from last night.

UPDATE: gothamist post here
