we all know i say "my favorite" a lot. so i won't say it now, because then no one will believe me when i say a band is my favorite (and to clear this up...radiohead is "my favorite band"...if we must play that favorites game.) but i digress...
so a month or two ago scott sent me an mp3 of this band called arcade fire. i thought...okay, they're canadian...and i love canadians...i'll give it a listen.
i liked it.
tonight...i saw arcade fire (with scott!) and they absolutely (and i have never said this before) changed my life.
to really bring the point home i'll tell you this much...i am broke. buh-roke. and i spent $15 on a t-shirt. a t-shirt! i haven't bought a concert t-shirt since i saw...actually i can't remember. but i remember being really jealous of my brother's U2 t-shirt when he got back from their show in 1980-something.
not ONLY did i buy a t-shirt but scott left the show and i stayed there alone to watch the rest of it! totally sober! i never do that.
okay, so in conclusion...
arcade fire = awesome
canadians = awesome
and my new t-shirt = awesome
class dismissed.
live show review tomorrow on gothamist. listen to them now: neighborhood #3 (power out).mp3
I'm so glad you liked them. That shirt was hott.
Go Canadians!
