last night i went to the nyc premiere of Dig! the movie. it documented seven years in the lives of friends and rival bands brian jonestown massacre and the dandy warhols.
ondi timoner, the films director, is my new idol. joel gion, bjm's tambourine man, is my new crush. stay tuned for a photo of him and i taken last night at the after party...for now, listen to bjm:
not if you were the last dandy on earth.mp3
you can get every one of their songs @ the brian jonestown massacre website
watch the trailer, go see the movie, and check out gothamist arts later this week for a comprehensive review of the film and the party
The BJM is effectively Anton. Joel Gion toured with the band in 1998 to support Strung Out In Heaven, but he hasn't been in the band since.

Yes...this was all covered in the film, thanks though!

umm
what the hell did Joel Gion do in the band?
I can't stand the tools that do nothing, but present some sort of image
those guys all seemed to be huge wankers w/out the talent to smell my balls
I used to think the d warhols were okay, but now I couldn't listen to that twit singer ever again
not enough talent for the egos here
