This weekend my friend Anna is getting married! To Peter! I've never met Peter, but I have heard good things, so I approve. And who wouldn't approve of a matrimony that is going to combine these two last names: Gianfrancesco & Marchesseault. (ed note to Anna: do not hyphenate)
Anna just opened her own restaurant/deli/bakery...she is a purveyor of all things yummy. It's called Mangia! Mangia! I went to visit her and her shop last summer and everything looked and smelled so good. I saw that it totally made sense that Anna, who was the smartest of all engineering students at college (where we met), opened this store.
I mean, her family would be doing the world a disservice if they did not bake and sell us delicious things to eat. Ask anyone in Providence about the other Gianfrancesco dining establishment, Louis Restaurant, and they'll certainly have a story to tell. Artwork from RISD students cover the walls and ceilings of this diner and when Louis passed away everyone paid homage (see the door to Louis Restaurant to the right and read about him here).
Anyway, I went a bit into the food thing there because I'm starving right now. I used to go to Louis Restaurant when Anna would work there on weekends at college and she would make me the most fantastically delicious and large egg & cheese sandwiches. Anna, whenever it is that I get married, I would like you to cater! And I only want egg & cheese sandwiches and cheesecakes!
My new favorite thing about Anna is that she registered @ Crate & Barrell for the Anna's Artistry dish set. That's so cute. My old favorite thing about Anna is that she used to test the water at the different RI beaches to see if one was more polluted than the others.
Note to Anna: remember the time we dressed up as Madonna, drank 40's and ran around our dorm lip syncing? Don't deny it, I have pictures and video. Here's to hoping you sing this at the wedding!
Congratulations you two!
