Since the OC isn't new for a few weeks I decided to write my own little mini-episode...

Fade In - LAX

Seth is watching Anna walk away towards her plane...and away from him. They are separated by a wall of glass that he cannot seem to remove his hand from...and 15 feet that seem more like miles.

the Postal Service Brand New Colony is playing ("Everything will change, ooo ooo...").

Cut to the OC opening credits and Phantom Planet’s California.

Cohen House – Morning

Sandy is buttering a bagel in the Cohen kitchen as Jimmy walks in…

Sandy: Jimmy…what a surprise. Can I get you a bagel?

Jimmy: I think Julie is sleeping with Luke

Sandy: Well…this is pretty serious Jimmy. We should sit down.

Jimmy: I can’t be certain, but I confronted her about it last night and she laughed it off like it was nothing.

Sandy: Maybe it was nothing.

Jimmy: But I just get this feeling. I mean the other day I was over there dropping off the younger daughter I never knew I had and there was Luke. Julie said he was there to “defrag her hard drive”.
Sandy…Luke doesn’t even have email, the kid is like 22 and still in high school. And those cheekbones, I think they cut the circulation off to his brain.

Sandy looks concerned.

It’s 80’s cover song time, this week it’s: *Anna originally by Toto but tonight it's covered by the OC house band themselves: Death Cab for Cutie.

Cut to Anna at her new high school in Pittsburgh. She is introducing herself to her new teacher.

Anna: (walking into the classroom) Uh, hello? Oh, hi, I’m Anna…I’ll be starting here this week and I just wanted to familiarize myself with my soon to be new stomping grounds. This IS where I’ll be spending the rest of my high school career, after all. Not that I would ever consider high school a “career”. I mean please, it’s more of a sociological experiment in consumerism and youth, gossip and shallowness, popularity and…You’re Ben Gibbard…

Ben: Nice to meet you Anna. I agree, high school isn’t for you…and it’s not for me. Let’s leave this place and never look back.

Anna: Where will we go Ben?

Ben: Seattle maybe.

They embrace and share a long, passionate kiss.

Anna: As long as you promise we’ll never go back to the OC. Let’s go somewhere where there are no Summers (looking deadpan at the camera) and there are no Seth Cohen’s!

end dream sequence

Seth wakes up startled and sweating.

Seth (to himself): Oh my god, Anna met the emo KING. I’ll never see her again! I can’t compete with Death Cab, I can’t compete with Ben Gibbard!

Ryan: (standing at the door) Dude, settle down … who is Ben Gibbard?

Seth: Dream, dream, very weird dream. Dude, why are standing at my door this early in the morning? Don’t you have a love triangle you should be sorting out, a black eye you should be attending to...?

Ryan: (shaking his head slowly and rubbing his eyes) Yeah, man, I think part of the triangle went back to Chino. I gotta figure out this Marissa thing, see ya…

Seth: Alright mysterio, see you later.

Seth falls back on his bed letting out a loud sigh.

Summer enters.

Summer: COHEN!

Seth: Summerrrrrrrrrrr, isn’t this a nice little surprise. You’re just coming into my room now without knocking or notifying me with some sort of signal first. Wow, we’ve come a long way Summer. Sit down with me, let’s enjoy this morning moment together.

Summer: Cohen, stop being weird. What happened to you last night?

Seth: Last night, it’s kind of a blur Summer…I had all that champagne at the party, then the 2 Chino's fought over the girl Chino...and then it all goes blank.

Summer: You went to go see Anna, what happened?!

Seth: I’d rather not discuss it Summer. I just had a really weird dream and I need to re-enter the real world slowly. Can we talk later, great, I’ll call you, thanks for stopping by though…

Summer leaves giving Seth a confused look.

Seth gets up, rubs his eyes and stretches as he looks out the window to see Luke and Julie making out on the Cooper's front steps.

Seth: Oh my god, Oh my god, I can’t believe no one is here to witness this. This is so gross.

Seth turns to go downstairs, but not after taking one more look at what is happening outside. He looks disgusted and runs out his door…

Deathcab’s Flustered/Hey Tomcat! plays in the background
